BrineTime ("we", "our", or "us") operates the BrineTime web app and Android app. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.
Information We Collect
When you use BrineTime we collect:
- Account information — your first name, last name, and email address when you register.
- Profile data — skill level, win/loss record, and match history generated through tournament participation.
- Tournament data — tournaments you create or register for, including registration status and seed assignments.
- Location — if you grant permission, your approximate location is used to surface nearby tournaments. This is optional and only accessed when you initiate a location search.
- Google account info — if you sign in with Google, we receive your name and email address from Google. We do not receive your Google password.
How We Use Your Information
- To create and manage your account.
- To allow you to register for and organize pickleball tournaments.
- To display player profiles, match history, and standings.
- To send transactional emails such as registration confirmations and waitlist updates.
- To improve the platform based on usage patterns.
We do not use your data for advertising or sell it to third parties.
Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored on secured servers hosted by Railway (United States). We use industry-standard practices including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) and hashed passwords. We retain your account data for as long as your account is active.
BrineTime does not process payments. Any entry fees listed on tournaments are informational only and are collected outside the platform.
Sharing Your Information
We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share data only in these limited cases:
- Other players — your display name, skill level, and match record are visible to other users as part of normal tournament participation.
- Tournament organizers — organizers of tournaments you register for can see your name and registration status.
- Service providers — we use Resend for transactional email delivery and Railway for hosting. These providers process data only as needed to operate the service.
- Legal requirements — we may disclose information if required by law.
Your Rights
You may request at any time:
- Access — a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correction — updates to inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Deletion — removal of your account and associated data.
